(A) For whom are our courses?

Any graduate from any discipline, with a degree of a recognized University, can apply for our MBA. Full time two years long MBA is five days a week. Any Higher Secondary passed student can apply for our three-years full-time BBA course. All the courses are in the field of Media, Entertainment & Communication Management.

(B) What are the unique features of the courses which distinguish these vis-a-vis other similar courses in India?

Our full-time MBA and BBA courses have three two months long internships in media and communication industry and NGOs and CSR wings of corporate in the domain of communication. Usually, such internships are one during a course. Also, they have to complete eight live projects with clients (like published features, events, films, web-design, ad-campaign, market survey, documentary production, etc) during the 2 years MBA or 3 years BBA course, apart from Media Knowledge Events across India under the brand-name of WWI Inspirations.

(C) How do you balance the theoretical and practical sides of media and management learning?

Our autonomous courses (Graduate program for UG and Post Graduate program for PG) are completely hands-on practical driven, with more than 50% of the evaluation being from projects, assignments, internships, etc., and the rest from written examinations at the end of the semesters. These programs are predominantly with media content. In contrast, the University MBA and BBA degree evaluation of UGC recognized courses of Annamalai University, is pre-dominantly through written examinations (75%), and are management-heavy and largely theoretical. Together, they ensure the theory-practice balance and technical skills learning for the trainees.

(D) What is the faculty level of the courses?

The full time faculty are drawn from the background of various institutes like Symbiosis, ISB&M, MET Group, EMDI and from industry backgrounds of TOI group, Zee, Star Groups. The entire film and animation faculty of WWI Schools of Film-making and Animation, comprising of stalwarts like Ravi Gupta, Rahul Purie, Anjum Rajabali, Rajen Kothari, Rakesh Ranjan, Prashant Kumar and others are involved in teaching our students. Over and above these are the 40 plus visiting faculty from the industry, most of whom are senior working professionals in media organizations.

(E) How do you ensure good placements for the students?

When EACH student completes three full-time two months long internships in three different organizations, and also creates a portfolio of eight live projects of communication with clients, they have worked with eleven organizations. Any reasonably good resource should get offers from more than one of these eleven organizations. Apart from this, there is the Placements Action Team (PAT) which works closely with the Dean, and drawing up on the wide network of the Chairman Subhash Ghai, President Meghna Purie, WWI Dean Ravi Gupta and WWI Communication Dean Ujjwal K Chowdhury, interacts with a large list of media organizations, some of whom are official Placement Partners, to ensure hundred percent quality placements.
